Rosehip Tincture

Known mostly for its beauty, the rose doesn't usually come to mind when we think of food and nutrition. But compared to oranges, Rose Hips contain 25 percent more iron, 20 to 40 percent more vitamin C,  28 percent more calcium and 25 times more vitamin A.  They are also a rich source of bioflavonoids, carotenoids, Vitamin K, selenium, pectin, Vitamin E and D, manganese, sulfur, potassium and silicon. Rose hips are a natural remedy for health problems and has been widely acclaimed as a treatment for rheumatoid arthritis, and regular consumption may increase mobility by 20 to 25 percent. The benefits may be linked to the antioxidant and anti-inflammatory properties of the herbal extract. These properties may also be helpful for lessening respiratory issues, such as asthma, chronic cough, shortness of breath, and even runny nose. The presence of the vitamins and minerals help to boost the immune system and may shorten the duration of colds and other viral infections. It is very popular in skincare products and is believed to help prevent scarring and skin irritation. Rose hip contains a large amount of vitamin C, which helps our bodies make collagen, an essential component within the framework of our bones, skin, and muscles. It is believed that those who have taken Rosehip for long periods of time have better sleeping habits and less stiffness in the morning.Rose hips have a calming effect on the body, and has been known to prevent stress and also act as an anti-depressant. 

 

Rose Hip has been widely acclaimed for lessening respiratory issues and for preventing asthma. The herbal tincture also helps to reduce wheezing symptoms in children and aids in chronic cough, shortness of breath and even runny noses. In fact, the vitamin C content in natural supplements, such as Rose Hips, reportedly helps to prevent the common cold, though there is a bit of contention over this. 

 

Ascorbic acid, is an essential nutrient that can play a role in structural formation of the connective tissues, including the cartilage in the joints, therefore Rose Hips are believed to help with the symptoms in joint disease such as arthritis. And some believe that by taking Rosehip, you may be able to reduce consumption of pain killers by 50 percent. Vitamin C is needed as an antioxidant, and if your intake is inadequate, collagen fibers can become unstable, which can lead to loosening of the teeth and bleeding of the gums.

 

Traditionally Rose hips extracts have been touted as a natural remedy good for diarrhea, infections, and in particular bladder infections. Pectin and the fruit acids in Rose Hip teas, or tinctures can be a really gentle diuretic and laxative. It has been used to alleviate the symptoms of kidney infections, and disease, and to assist in instance of mild constipation. The nutrients in the herbal extract may help to maintain a healthy digestive system. 

 

Ingredients: Wildcrafted Rose Hips, Distilled Water, 50% Alcohol.

Instructions: Use 6-12 drops in juice, water, under the tongue or as desired. May be taken 3 times daily. Shake well. Store in cool dark place. Keep out of reach of children.

 

Contraindications: As a natural diuretic, Rose Hips may increase the efficacy of prescription diuretics and should not be used at the same time. Rose hips should be used with caution if you are taking ferrous sulfate, because it improves iron absorption. Rose hips may also increase one's risk of developing kidney stones, amd may irritate hemochromatosis, thalassemia and other issues that worsen with iron absorption. Make sure your doctor knows if you are taking a blood thinner, such as Coumadin®.
